Facebook beats Yahoo and grabs No.2 spot among U.S. video sites

The very famous social networking site, Facebook, has trumped Yahoo as the Internet’s most popular video site in the United States.

According to comScore, Facebook witnessed 53 million unique viewers throughout July whereas the large corporate company Yahoo observed 48.7 million unique visitors. Facebook has around 327,801 videos, and each viewer spends more than 20 minutes watching videos on the website.

Google’s video site Youtube still grabs the first position in the online video market with nearly 157 million total unique viewers and each viewer spends more than 1336 minutes on the website.

comScore’s July 2012 report also include some of these noteworthy findings:

  • 85.5 percent of the U.S. Internet audience viewed online video.
  • The duration of the average online content video was 6.7 minutes, while the average online video ad was 0.4 minutes.
  • Video ads accounted for 20.7 percent of all videos viewed and 1.6 percent of all minutes spent viewing video online.
